Interview with a disease control specialist

This interview text for year 6 and P7 explains the work of disease control specialist Professor James Logan. He is the Head of the Department of Disease Control at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. They have recently discovered that mosquitoes can detect the smell of malaria-infected humans from their body odour. He explains how he infected himself with hookworm as an experiment and how COVID-19 sniffing dogs could help us detect infected people.
