Engineer: Enedina Alves Marques

This explanation text for year 4 and P5, linking to the topic electricity, describes the life and achievements of Enedina Alves Marques. She was the first black woman to gain a degree in engineering in Brazil. Her biggest achievement was the construction of a huge underground hydroelectric power plant, now called the Governador Pedro Viriato Parigot de Souza Plant. A hydroelectric power plant uses the power of moving water to generate electricity.
