Historical scientist James Hutton

This biography text for year 3 and P4, linking to the topics Rocks and Earth’s materials, describes the life of the historical scientist James Hutton. James spent lots of time outdoors and he became fascinated by the way that wind and rain changed the soil and the land. He was puzzled to find fossilised fish and shells in rocks in Scotland, far above sea level. He began collecting rocks and reading books about geology.
